Berlin, GERMANY – December 20, 2019 – Menutech, the cross-european startup pioneering the automation of personalised food menus, today announces receiving the Headstart grant from the EIT Health European institute. The programme helps start-ups and SMEs develop their healthcare innovations faster and better, to promote better health of citizens and contribute to a sustainable health economy in Europe.

The co-founders Lukas Klement (CTO) and Laure Joumier-Klement (CEO) look forward to work with the European knowledge and innovation community to expand the AI capacities of Menutech's personalised meal planning and menu creation.

In Europe alone, a third of patients are at risk of malnutrition with an annual cost up to €120 billion. Patients undernutrition is associated with increased morbidity, prolonged hospital stays and higher health care costs.

The Menutech software solution generates meal options that are both personalised to the individual dietary requirements of patients and reducing levels of effort for food service departments. Menutech's vision is to improving the collaboration between food service and medical teams, and end malnutrition in healthcare.
